Workers is the compute layer
Workers runs application and API code across Cloudflare's network. It can serve a complete application, sit in front of another origin or perform a focused request task.
Available services
The current catalogue includes Workers Free and Paid, Pages Free, R2, AI Gateway, Images Free and Turnstile Free. Each request records the named project or application and its commercial terms before Silurian completes activation.
R2 object storage
R2 is S3-compatible object storage for files and other unstructured data. Typical projects include application assets, customer uploads, backups and retained recordings. Direct R2 Internet egress has no data-transfer charge, while stored volume, write/list operations, read operations and any connected metered service remain distinct usage dimensions. The current Silurian plan and order, not a remembered Cloudflare allowance, define the commercial terms enabled for the customer.
Pages and application delivery
Pages can deploy a website from Git or a direct upload and can add dynamic behaviour through Pages Functions. Workers is the more general compute layer. Choose from the application architecture and deployment workflow rather than assuming every website needs a paid Worker.
AI Gateway
AI Gateway sits between an application and supported AI providers to provide operational controls such as logging, caching and rate limiting. It does not itself make an application correct, remove the need for provider credentials or grant permission to send customer data; the integration design must define providers, data handling, retention, budgets and failure behaviour.
Usage boundary
Workers Paid, R2 and related developer services can have independent allowances and usage units. A saved payment method and an agreed budget are required before chargeable usage can be enabled.
Other developer services
D1, Workers KV, Durable Objects, Queues, Workflows and Workers AI inference are not currently available for online ordering. Contact Silurian if your project needs one of them.
